How do I get an API key? +

You can get an API key by signing up for an account on our authentication page. Once you've created an account, you'll be able to generate an API key from your dashboard. Free accounts are limited to 500 requests per day, while paid plans offer higher limits and additional features.

What formats are supported by the API? +

The IcoSix API supports multiple formats depending on your subscription plan:

  • PNG: Available on all plans
  • SVG: Available on Basic and higher plans
  • ICO: Available on Basic and higher plans
  • GIF: Available on Premium and higher plans

You can specify the desired format using the format parameter in your API requests.

How do I report bugs or request new features? +

We welcome bug reports and feature requests! You can submit them through our contact form below. Please include as much detail as possible, including:

  • For bugs: Steps to reproduce, expected behavior, and actual behavior
  • For feature requests: A clear description of the feature and how it would benefit you

Our team reviews all submissions and prioritizes them based on impact and feasibility.

What is the rate limit for API calls? +

Rate limits vary based on your subscription plan:

  • Free: 60 requests/hour, 500 requests/day
  • Basic: 300 requests/hour, 5,000 requests/day
  • Premium: 1,000 requests/hour, 25,000 requests/day
  • Enterprise: Custom limits based on your needs

When you exceed your rate limit, the API will return a 429 Too Many Requests response. You can monitor your usage through the rate limit headers included in each response.

Can I use the API graphics commercially? +

Commercial use of graphics is available with paid plans (Basic, Premium, and Enterprise). The Free plan is limited to non-commercial use only.

When using our graphics commercially, you don't need to provide attribution, but it's always appreciated. All graphics are provided under a license that allows integration into commercial products with paid plans.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my subscription? +

You can change your subscription plan at any time from your account dashboard. Changes to your plan will take effect immediately:

  • Upgrades: You'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your billing cycle
  • Downgrades: Your plan will change at the end of your current billing cycle
